Case Study: LaundryBoss

Problem
The problem for Laundry and vending owners has been with payment systems. Laundry and vending owners have had to make substantial capital investments to receive payments and manage their machines. BCC Payments wanted to build a new IOT solution from scratch called LaundryBoss.

Solution
SwitchLane was selected to handle all aspects of LaundryBoss. SwitchLane team built LaundryBoss from the ground up. The Laundry Boss system is operated reliably and securely by software residing in the cloud. SwitchLane’s mobile development team built several Kiosk apps and mobile apps for both the iOS and Android platforms for end users and Laundromat owners to manage washers, dryers and vending machines. Our embedded programmers programmed the HUBs and MIBs to control Washers, Dryers and Vending machines. Our web developers built web portals for Laundromat owners to log into their personal dashboard on the Web, click on a specific store, and view the status of any individual machine at any moment. Laundry owners had all accounting with the Laundry Boss in place, they were able to view a record of every transaction made in their place of business, Pull reports and access information any time. They were able to do Digital wallet management, manage specials, provide customers with bonus money, add value to accounts via cash or credit card. The Laundry Boss helped owners to be readily in charge of it all from wherever they were.

The Laundry Boss system components
The Laundry Boss system components at the Laundry consists of a Value Add Kiosk (VAK) in the form of a tablet kiosk, and the individual communication boards that are installed in each of your washers and dryers. The boards allow whatever machines you are using to communicate with The Laundry Boss. The kiosk holds a tablet, which is the communication and control center for your laundry.

The end customer of Laundry’s was also provided with a free mobile app for iOS and Android phones which they can use instead of the Kiosk tablet.
